Giving

Your Support Makes a Difference.

If you are designating your gift to a particular fund, please include the name of the fund with your gift. All non-designated gifts will be directed to the Temple Israel General Fund.

The vibrancy of Temple Israel relies on its people – on you. Your gifts allow Temple Israel to continue to be a source of strength and a center for prayer, learning, celebration, and community for all of our families.

Your gifts ensure the vitality and endurance of Jewish life in the South, strengthen our prominent progressive voice in the world, and affirm your support and care for our community. Thank you for your generosity and for the impact you have on Temple Israel.

If you have questions, please contact Laura Yacoubian at lauray@timemphis.org or 901.937.2774.

Gifts of Cash

You may make a one-time or recurring gift to Temple Israel using your credit card through our online donation page.

Send a check made payable to:
     Temple Israel
     1376 East Massey Road
     Memphis, Tennessee 38120

You can have your gift automatically deducted from your bank account each month. Complete the Automated Clearing House (ACH) form online or download it here.

Gifts of Stock

Donating appreciated stock is one of the best ways to give to Temple Israel. You can avoid capital gains tax by directly transferring stock that has appreciated at least one year. In addition, you are still eligible to deduct the full-market value of the gift from your income taxes up to the amount allowed by the IRS. Please contact Jamie Blevins to notify her that you will be transferring shares of stock to Temple Israel's brokerage account at Diversified Trust Company. Please provide the type of stock and the number of shares you plan to donate.
You will need the following information when you contact your broker to request the transfer:
     DTC #: 5409
     FBO: Diversified Trust Company
     Account #: 74-2085-01-2
     FFC: Temple Israel Common Fund
     Account #: 46-0030-01-8
Any information should be reviewed by your legal or financial advisors to determine whether it is applicable to your circumstances.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions

If you are aged 70 1/2 or older, you can make a direct contribution from a traditional IRA to qualified non-profits like Temple Israel of up to $100,000 annually without it being considered a taxable distribution. If you are aged 72 or older, you must take a required minimum distribution annually from your traditional IRA or face tax penalties. Using an IRA to make a donation can help lower your taxes and help Temple Israel. In order for your donation to be applied to this year's tax return, Temple Israel must receive your donation by December 31. Distribution checks need to be made payable directly to Temple Israel. Please contact our Controller, Jamie Blevins, to notify her of your donation.

Any information should be reviewed by your legal or financial advisors to determine whether it is applicable to your circumstances.
